Over the last 40 years, Dublin Business School (DBS) has built a considerable reputation for the quality of its teaching. As an institution we focus our main research activity on the constant improvement of the learning experience of our students. Evidence of the success we have achieved has come in many different ways. One particular example is the success achieved by our students in the examinations of the professional accountancy bodies where over 880 DBS students have achieved worldwide and national individual prizewinner success. DBS has developed strategic links with many third level institutions in Europe, the US and Asia and every year welcomes students from over 150 countries worldwide. The College also offers international students a range of Semester Abroad and Summer Programmes in the Schools of Business, Arts and Law. The International Offices at DBS provide International students with individual support and advice on accommodation, social activities and student employment, advice and assistance on immigration rules as well as post study pathways and progression. One of these innovations is DBS Advantage. DBS Advantage is an initiative which gives students the opportunity to engage in a development programme run parallel to their academic studies that prepares students for the workplace. It has long been recognised that the role of third level is not simply to impart knowledge but to contribute to maintaining a competitive and a ‘smart’ economy, and also to play a valuable part in the holistic development of the person.
